Newcomers & Visitors Guide to East Montgomery County
Montgomery County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation and East Montgomery County (EMC) is no exception. Building on a foundation of hometown values and community pride, EMC is home to award-winning master-planned communities and one of the Houston area's most visited open-air shopping centers offering a variety of options to shop, dine, work, and play. This combined with quality education and healthcare, EMC continues to grow residentially and commercially with unlimited potential and opportunity.
EMC is an unincorporated region with a few cities within. It is best described as two areas, EMC Proper and Greater EMC.
EMC Proper
EMC Proper is a 158-square-mile area with more than 80,000 residents. It is defined and served by the East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) with specific boundaries mostly within the New Caney & Splendora Independent School Districts.
