Supporting Local Families: Family Promise of Lake Houston

This week’s opportunities are made possible with support from Family Promise of Lake Houston.

Family Promise helps local families move from homelessness to home by providing safe shelter, case management, employment support, and practical tools to rebuild their lives. Their work creates lasting impact: 84% of program graduates remain stably housed two years later.

The organization’s 16th annual Chicks and Hogs event takes place September 26. It is a chance to support an organization that is helping families build stronger, more stable futures right here in our community.

Wednesday: The Great 88 Business Networking Breakfast

Start the week strong at The Great 88 Business Networking Breakfast, presented by ServiceMaster. This is not an ordinary breakfast. Bring your business cards, invite a friend, prepare a sharp 30-second introduction, and come ready to make connections in one of the most fun networking environments around.

Do not forget the door prizes. They are always part of the excitement.

Wednesday: Wander Web Studio Ribbon Cutting

Immediately following breakfast, join us as we welcome Wander Web Studio to the Chamber with a ribbon cutting celebration.

Ribbon cuttings are a great way to show support for local businesses, celebrate growth in the community, and make a few more connections along the way.

Thursday: EXPO 2026 Chamber Business Showcase

Thursday brings one of the week’s biggest opportunities: the EXPO 2026 Chamber Business Showcase.

Friday: Woodforest National Bank Ribbon Cutting

Close out the week by celebrating the re-grand opening of Woodforest National Bank in Porter.

The ribbon cutting takes place at 10:00 a.m. in the newly remodeled Walmart. Yes, 10:00 a.m. Make a note of it and come help celebrate this exciting milestone.
