A Hometown Hero Takes the Spotlight at the August Chamber Luncheon
The Greater EMC Chamber’s August Monthly Luncheon brought nearly 200 business and community leaders together at The Atrium Center for an afternoon filled with connection, celebration, recognition, and a few unexpected moments. Presented by Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, the luncheon showcased the people and organizations helping East Montgomery County continue to grow and thrive.
Networking With a Side of Fun
Guests were welcomed by Chamber Diplomats before enjoying passed appetizers from Featured Caterer The Union Kitchen and a little friendly competition at a mini putt-putt activity promoting the upcoming Chamber Classic.
After a blessing from Jeanna Bumpas, the buffet opened and guests enjoyed The Union Kitchen’s menu, including strawberry basil goat cheese crostini, pistachio chicken, Cajun blackened salmon bites, garlic mashed potatoes, Italian green beans, and a selection of decadent desserts.
Celebrating Sponsors and Chamber Members
Board Chair Heather Ramsey led the pledges before Chamber President & CEO Mark Linabury welcomed attendees and recognized the East Montgomery County Improvement District for its continued support as the Chamber’s Foundational Supporter.
Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, the presenting sponsor, shared information about its locations and services, with Dr. Iram Ramzan highlighting the importance of preventative medicine and primary care.
Centerprize Sponsor Family Promise of Lake Houston was recognized before Centerprizes were awarded to a guest at each table. The Chamber also thanked Table Sponsors 936-600-DUMP, San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA), and The MINT National Bank for their support.
The EMCID Board of Director's presented a check to the Chamber, and the Chamber's President & CEO and Board Chair were there to receive it for a great photo opportunity that illustrates just how supportive EMCID is to the Chamber.

The Chamber’s Diplomats and Board of Directors were recognized, with Diane Bullock receiving the Diplomat of the Quarter honor.
New members welcomed into the Chamber included Lutheran Education Association of Houston, Texwood Shows Inc., ZeroBalance Tax Resolution, Voda Cleaning & Restoration of Greater Houston-North, 1st Choice Waste Services, Humble ISD, PNC Bank – Kendall Montalvo, SendME Pro Services, and Vogt Engineering. Each new member received a Chamber plaque before joining the iconic photo tradition on the Atrium Center stairs.
An Unexpected Honor for a Hometown Hero
The afternoon took an emotional turn when guest speaker Frank McCrady, President and CEO of the East Montgomery County Improvement District, was surprised by the Chamber's Executive Board with the Hometown Hero Award.
The award recognizes individuals whose leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact on East Montgomery County. McCrady was honored for decades of service, collaboration, economic development, and his commitment to creating opportunities for businesses, residents, and future generations.
Following the surprise recognition, McCrady shared insights into EMCID’s work, funding, community developments, and the region’s evolving business landscape. He also provided updates on the convention center scheduled to open in December and discussed the business sectors having the greatest impact on East Montgomery County.
Ending on a Winning Note
Before the luncheon concluded, two attendees were selected through a raffle to receive gift cards from The Union Kitchen. As an added surprise, each winner also got to take home one of the mini putt-putt sets used during the event.
From celebrating new members to recognizing a dedicated Diplomat and honoring a true Hometown Hero, the August luncheon was a reminder that the strength of East Montgomery County comes from the people who continually invest their time, talent, and energy into the community.
