Weekly Opportunities: November 2026, Week 1

It’s luncheon week at the Greater EMC Chamber, and we have plenty of opportunities to connect, celebrate our veterans, and get to know the schools serving East Montgomery County. From making the most of your membership to stepping into public education for a day, there’s a place for you to get involved.

We’re missing Chamber Cheri, too! In the meantime, here’s what’s coming up and where to get registered.

Wednesday: Make the Most of Your Membership at Chamber 101

Are you taking advantage of what your Chamber membership has to offer? Chamber 101 is your opportunity to get familiar with those benefits and build a better understanding of your membership.

Presented by Jeanna Bumpas, Commercial Insurance Advisor, the event takes place Wednesday morning, right before the luncheon. If you’ve never attended, this is a great time to sign up.

• When: Wednesday at 10:15am.
• Cost: Free to attend.
• Registration: Required, with limited space available.

Go ahead and reserve your spot so you can put your membership to work.

Celebrate Our Veterans at the Veterans Appreciation Luncheon

Immediately following Chamber 101, we’ll come together for our Veterans Appreciation Luncheon, presented by McIlroy Insurance Group. This month’s gathering gives us an opportunity to celebrate our veterans and recognize their service.

A special thank-you goes to Porter Insurance Agency and Woods of Kaos for sponsoring tables for our veterans with the VFW. We appreciate their support in helping make this gathering possible.

Thursday: Experience Local Education Through Principal for a Day

How well do you know what’s happening inside our local public schools? Principal for a Day offers a chance to get a closer look at public education right here in EMC.

The program takes place Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with New Caney ISD and Splendora ISD. It’s an opportunity to challenge perceptions, gain a greater appreciation for public education, and discover how our schools are preparing the next generation.

There’s another special part of the experience: breakfast and lunch are provided by students in the schools’ culinary programs. That brings student learning into the day in a very practical way.

• When: Thursday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Participating districts: New Caney ISD and Splendora ISD.
• Cost: Free to attend.
• Meals: Breakfast and lunch provided by culinary program students.

The registration deadline is almost here, so don’t wait to sign up.
