Summer Throwdown Axe Tournament Brings East Montgomery County Businesses Together
Business networking took aim in a whole new way as the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber hosted another successful Summer Throwdown Axe Throwing Tournament. From friendly competition at Axe-Mania to an evening of celebration at Los Cucos Mexican Cafe, the event brought together Chamber members for an unforgettable afternoon of networking, camaraderie, and fun.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, our After Party & Awards Sponsor, for helping us close out the evening with great food, fellowship, and recognition of our tournament champions.
The excitement began as soon as teams arrived at Axe-Mania to check in, reconnect with other Chamber members, and prepare for an afternoon of friendly competition. Representing businesses and organizations from across the community, this year's competitors included teams from Prudential Financial Advisors, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, I.C. Janitorial Supply, The MINT National Bank (with two teams competing), Splendora ISD, City Lifestyle, Woods of Kaos, and 936-600-DUMP.
As the tournament got underway, competitors tested their aim, cheered one another on, and enjoyed plenty of laughs along the way. While everyone came ready to compete, the event was ultimately about strengthening relationships, building new connections, and demonstrating that partnerships don't always happen in a boardroom.
Once the final axes had been thrown, participants and guests made their way to Los Cucos Mexican Cafe for the After Party and Awards Celebration. Around 50 attendees gathered to continue networking while enjoying delicious food, a cash bar, and live entertainment from local favorite Tomfoolery, whose mix of popular hits and original songs created the perfect atmosphere for an evening of celebration.
The Chamber also took time to recognize an important milestone, celebrating the seventh work anniversary of Chamber President & CEO Mark Linabury. Mark's leadership and dedication continue to help strengthen the Chamber's mission of creating opportunities for businesses and fostering a vibrant, engaged community throughout East Montgomery County and the greater region.
The evening concluded with Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital presenting awards to this year's tournament winners.
