The American Dream Took Center Stage
The Greater East Montgomery County Chamber welcomed 200 members and guests to the Atrium Center for its July Monthly Luncheon, where patriotism, community, and inspiration came together in celebration of America's upcoming 250th anniversary. Presented by the San Jacinto River Authority, the luncheon immersed attendees in an unforgettable experience that honored the nation's past while looking ahead to the opportunities that lie before future generations.
A Patriotic Welcome
Guests arrived in style aboard complimentary luxury shuttles before being greeted by Chamber Diplomats with warm smiles, hugs, handshakes, and high fives. Revolutionary Education set the tone for the afternoon as Revolutionary War soldiers and a traditional fife and drum corps welcomed attendees, transporting guests back to America's founding era.
Inside the Atrium Center, patriotic bunting decorated the room, and each guest received a commemorative America 250 coin as a keepsake of the celebration.
Texas Roadhouse, the featured caterer, treated guests to passed pulled pork sliders during networking before serving a hearty barbecue buffet featuring fall-off-the-bone ribs, BBQ chicken, classic sides, and desserts.
Following a blessing by Joshua Mason, Alexa Hadden with Texas Roadhouse introduced the menu before guests enjoyed lunch and continued networking.
Community Partnerships on Display
As the program began, the room proudly stood together to sing the National Anthem before Johnny Schmonsees led both the United States and Texas pledges.
Emcee Mark Linabury shared an update on the Greater EMC Chamber's Corridor Stewardship Initiative, highlighting the Chamber's ongoing advocacy for maintaining landscaped medians throughout East Montgomery County and reinforcing its commitment to enhancing the appearance of the community.
Presenting Sponsor San Jacinto River Authority engaged the audience with an interactive poll asking how many attendees already understood the organization's responsibilities. The results sparked a few laughs while providing the perfect opportunity to educate guests about SJRA's critical role in flood management, wastewater treatment, and protecting the region's natural resources.
The Chamber also welcomed EfTA intern Gauri Chandran and recognized its newest members: Encino Landholdings, Ninyo & More, Splendid Arrays Flower Shop, Maui's Meals, Tune Up The Manly Salon Valley Ranch, Courtyard Marriott Houston NE/Generation Park, Prime Patio & Landscaping, AlphaGraphics Lake Houston, Wander Web Studio, Postnet - Spring, and The Terraces at Kingwood Town Center.
Centerprize Sponsor Sullivan's Truck Auto & Collision was also recognized for supporting the event and centerprizes were given to a guest at each table.
Looking Toward America's Next 250 Years
Retired U.S. Army General Dr. Richard Staats delivered an inspiring keynote focused on freedom, innovation, and opportunity. Drawing on a lifetime of military leadership and service, Dr. Staats challenged attendees to appreciate the freedoms Americans enjoy while recognizing the limitless possibilities available today and for generations to come.
His message connected the enduring ideals of the American Dream with the responsibility each generation shares in shaping the nation's future, leaving guests encouraged to continue investing in their businesses, communities, and one another.
The luncheon concluded on a heartfelt note as the entire room joined together in singing "God Bless America," providing a fitting conclusion to an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the nation's heritage and its promising future.
The July luncheon once again demonstrated that the Greater EMC Chamber offers far more than a meal and a meeting. By bringing together business leaders, community partners, and inspiring speakers in meaningful ways, each luncheon continues to strengthen relationships while creating memorable experiences that celebrate the people and values that make East Montgomery County a thriving place to live, work, and do business.
