High Speed Teambuilding: The Chamber’s Grand Prix Returns to Speedsportz

Fans enthusiastically cheered on their favorite teams on spectator row

At the Greater EMC Chamber’s Annual Grand Prix, the energy was high, the competition was friendly, and the culture that defines our chamber was on full display. Hosted at Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney next to the Food Zone on Highway 242, this signature event once again proved why it remains one of our most anticipated member-focused, opportunity-driven traditions.

Speedsportz (New Caney, TX) is an exhilarating high-speed racetrack next door to a popular food truck park and across the street from a theme park making the area a local hotspot for family and group outings

The excitement began as drivers and guests checked in and prepared for an afternoon unlike any other chamber event. Mark Linabury officially welcomed attendees before Alan Rudolph delivered an energetic safety briefing that set the tone for the competition ahead. Racers then gathered for a spirited roll call that brought plenty of cheers, laughter, and team pride before each driver received their assigned kart number. After a warm-up session on the track, the green flag waved and the high-energy race was on. For the next hour, teams battled for position, bragging rights, and the coveted podium finish. Once the racing concluded, members gathered for an awards ceremony, raffle prize drawings, photos, and celebration as competitors relived their favorite moments from the track.

Drivers gave their best effort and even had to keep an eye out to see who was on their heels

The Grand Prix is more than a race — it is the ultimate team-building event. Chamber members stepped out of the office and onto the track, trading business cards for helmets and building relationships through teamwork and a healthy dose of competition. This year’s teams included Randall Reed’s Planet Ford 59 Humble, HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, Warner Pacific, IC Janitorial Supply, Porter Insurance Agency, Hallmark Mitigation & Construction, Kenneth's Car Care, The MINT National Bank, East Montgomery County Improvement District, First Financial Bank, New Caney ISD, STX Roofing, Mundy Legal Services, Silver Accounting Group LLC, The Deck & Patio Company, and Precinct 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy Hayden.

Mundy Legal Services’ racing team, “The Flamazings”, showed up branded and spirited and stole the show as soon as they arrived

Lunch kept everyone fueled thanks to our Lunch Sponsor, Citizens State Bank, and catering by Texas Roadhouse. Guests enjoyed barbecue chicken or a 6-ounce sirloin, green beans, mashed potatoes, and those famous rolls with honey cinnamon butter.

After the checkered flag fell and first-, second-, and third-place winners were announced, the excitement continued with raffle drawings. Prizes included the Fast Lane Feast, Finish Line Freshen-Up, and Top Shelf Trophy Pack — and the winning reactions were just as spirited as the racing itself.
